Like I said in my bio, when we train on extrication of any type we don't get any information on the new materials out on the road not the techniques to handle these vehicles. I do plan on sharing what I learn with our members.

I am hoping to learn information on new car technology. So that I can help my Truck committee purchase the correct extrication equipment for our needs.

I really don't have any expectations of this class. As stated above, any knowledge is good knowledge.

Looking to learn anything I can to add more tools to the toolbox both to help myself and as a probationary instructor to help my students.

From this class I hope to gain confidence and knowledge for myself while operating on the scene of a traffic accident as well as be able to fully understand the subject to the point of being able to explain it clearly to crew members and fellow fire fighters.

Please post what you hope to learn and how you will share the information with your crew or department. I hope to gain a better understanding of vehicle structure and weak points that could lead to quicker and safer rescues. I also hope to learn more about safe extrication techniques for battery operated autos. My local volunteer fire dept asks it's members to focus on different aspects of fire/rescue and share what we are learning during our Thursday night trainings. We are in a small rural community and generally only train with our extrication equipment twice a year.

Airbags are now everywhere, automobile structures have changed drastically and high-voltage electrical systems are increasing in number. I wish to learn all I can about these three dynamic components so that I am better prepared to handle extrication on modern vehicles.

Hoping to get a feel for vehicle frame design and construction, and extrication techniques that take both into consideration.
